In 2008, Judith Long (L) and Lucy Cooney (R) had a brilliant idea. Inspired by Portland's Black Frame Sale (which benefits Portland's Bayside Neighborhood Association), they thought perhaps they could organize a similar event in Brunswick to benefit Arts Are Elementary, a non-profit organization that puts artists in residence in Brunswick's elementary schools. With the support of the Black Frame committee members, Lucy and Judith set to work with artists from Points of View Art Gallery and Arts Are Elementary board members. Art lovers from all around Midcoast Maine came out on a beautiful October evening and raised more than $5000 for Brunswick's students.

Each year the event has attracted more artists and supporters. Please join us this year on Friday, September 30 for the 4th Annual 10x10 Benefit Exhibit and Sale. We'll look forward to seeing you.
